Catalent will perform formulation development, commercial manufacturing, and packaging in St. Petersburg, Fla.
October 12, 2026
By: Patrick Lavery
Editor’s Take: Single-serve oral gel products can provide simpler alternatives to tablets, capsules, and syrups.
Catalent announced a commercial supply agreement with Mantra, which develops single-serve over the counter (OTC) oral gel products. The pact covers CDMO services to be provided by Catalent for Mantra’s oral gel platform of products for everyday relief.
Namely, these include formulation development, commercial manufacturing, and packaging to be done at Catalent’s St. Petersburg, Fla. facility.
Mantra’s OTC products in question address three concerns in particular: occasional sleeplessness, pain relief, and menstrual relief. The company’s products provide an alternative to traditional tablets, capsules, and syrups. They come in portable pouches that deliver precise, pre-measured doses, without water.
“This is the first OTC unit-dose gel technology manufactured by Catalent, and we are proud to support the commercialization of Mantra’s portfolio.”
Aris Gennadios, PhD, Catalent Group President
This single-serve format, designed to make self-care simpler and more convenient, now combines with Catalent’s development-to-commercial expertise. Catalent also brings to the table established quality systems and a scalable manufacturing infrastructure.
Catalent Group President, Pharma and Consumer Health Aris Gennadios, PhD, says the company’s priority is supporting innovators in various ways. This encompasses the “expertise, scale, and speed to bring self-care products to market.”
“This is the first OTC unit-dose gel technology manufactured by Catalent,” Gennadios said. “We are proud to support the commercialization of Mantra’s portfolio.”
“Consumers have changed the way they think about nearly every category of health,” Mantra CEO and Founder Simon More said. “But the way we take everyday medicine has remained largely unchanged. We built Mantra to rethink that experience through a modern format, clean formulations, and more convenient approach to everyday relief. Partnering with Catalent gives us the development expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and scale to bring that vision to market.”
Catalent says it will continue to expand upon this partnership by continuing to support self-care innovators with its various solutions.
